Biography

Katia Taylor is a Toronto-based photographer specializing in weddings, maternity, portraiture and event photography.

Since graduating from Toronto's Ryerson School of Image Arts in 2001, Katia has been actively working on a freelance basis, building up her client base and constantly exploring new photographic avenues.

Katia began photographing weddings in 2002, firstly just as favours for friends and now as a career. Her focus is to keep the much of the day candid and flowing naturally. With her interest in a more photojournalistic approach, she captures all the key elements of the day in an unobtrusive way and pays great attention to detail and composition.

Katia opened her portrait studio in 2003 based in the vibrant Liberty Village neighbourhood of Toronto. Her portrait sessions are casual and relaxed and focused on the comfort of the subject. In the studio, she shoots anything from product to new-born baby photography.

As busy as Katia's schedule can get, she still takes time to work on her own fine art based work. She has traveled through Europe, The Caribbean and South America taking great joy in exploring all places photographically.
